For over 60 years Southwest Properties has been a family-run business with an earned reputation for quality, integrity, and innovation. Grown from humble beginnings, our story began with Simon Spatz who immigrated to Halifax to start a new life. He went from running a small, successful grocery market, to becoming a property owner, manager, and builder. Since 1988, Simon’s son Jim has spearheaded Southwest’s transformation to an award-winning company. We strive to improve people’s lives by creating exceptional spaces in which to live, shop, work and play.
